Germain Cornet >>

Carol GardnerGermain—known to his friends as “Jimmy”—has had a long love affair with cars. As a director of the Vintage European Car Club (VEA), he is in charge of organizing various activities, including meetings, rallies, and car shows.

Germain first got involved with car rallies in the 1970s, when he entered navigation rallies in Europe with a Ford Cortina GT. Since then, he has been active as either a participant or as an organizer in many auto-related events in both Canada and the United States.

Alfa RomeoGermain has a particular passion for the Italian Alfa Romeo—he owns four models. His collection includes an Alfa Romeo Montreal 1972 that he restored and presented in 2007 at the Meadowbrook Concours of Elegance. It won first place at the Alfa Romeo Convention in Detroit.

Germain loves to drive on country roads and discover idyllic sites. He also loves to organize car rallies that combine tourism, gastronomy, and competition.

He is equally passionate about sailing and is as inexhaustible on the subject of sailboats as he is on the subject of cars.

In his professional life, Germain is a senior management consultant with Fujitsu, an international IT company. As an experienced project director, he has successfully managed major implementations of IT systems worldwide for companies like United Airlines, Boeing, Qantas, McKesson, the U.S. Air Force, and PSA (Peugeot-Citroen Group).

Germain’s managerial skills make him an invaluable collaborator for the organization of events like “Art and the Automobile.” His wide-ranging contacts enable him to surround himself with experts, and he can count on his wife, Michele, for assistance on the artistic side of things.
