Alain Raymond >>

Alain RaymondAlain has been passionate about automobiles and all things mechanical since his teenage years. He is an avid reader and holds a special interest for the history of the automobile. Alain has worked as a professional technical translator and manager of translation services for nearly 40 years in both the private and public sectors. In the early 80s, he founded his own translation firm in Ottawa, specializing in the automotive field.

More recently, Alain has moved to Quebec and taken on automotive journalism with Jacques Duval and his Guide de l’auto. For four years, Alain has also co-hosted a televised version of Le Guide de l'auto on Canal Vox, followed by Prenez le volant, a series of 26 shows on Canal Évasion.

For the past six years, Alain has been publishing Rétroviseur, a weekly column on vintage cars and automotive history, in the Auto section of La Presse. He also writes in both French and English for other publications at home and abroad.

True to his passion for cars, Alain spends considerable time taking care of his small car collection, attends numerous vintage car shows and tries to promote vintage car racing in Quebec. His circle of friends includes several car collectors and vintage racers against whom he competes in his 1964 Fiat Abarth 1000 TC.
